Please join The Doctors Company for a seminar designed to help phsycians and healthcare professionals identify and reduce risk.  This is a program collaboration with Orange County Medical Association, San Diego County Medical Society, and San Bernardino County Medical Society! ALL ARE WELCOME!

This session will cover key updates on California compliance with the 2026 HIPAA rules and related tools.  It will explain the documentation required after a HIPAA violation and how to use the 2026 Health and Human Services (HHS) online Annual Risk Assessment Tool.  If  a HIPAA violation is reported, practices may be asked to provide a copy of their most recent Annual Risk Assessment, so it is important to complete it each year.  There will also be a review of the new HHS rules for medical practices effective July 8, 2026.

Our guest speaker, an accomplished medical office manager, will share how she successfully completed the HHS mandated annual risk assessment.  The program will provide valuable insights and strategies for managing compliance to strengthen and optimize your medical practice business operations.

OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be able to:

  • Educate staff and colleagues regarding newest regulations for HIPAA and required annual security assessment of your practice
  • Identify opportunities to enhance practice management operations
  • Develop strategies to effectively manage challenging patients

PRESENTERS:

  • Kathleen Stillwell, RN, MHSA, MPA, CPHRM, Senior Patient Safety Risk Manager, The Doctors Company

In complex circumstances, which present significant potential for an adverse event or litigation, The Doctors Company and the faculty recommend you consult directly with your corporate or personal counsel for professional legal guidance.
