52nd Annual CMA Legislative Advocacy Conference - April 8, 2026
The California Medical Association (CMA) will host its 52nd annual Legislative Advocacy Day on April 8, 2026, in Sacramento. The day consistently brings together more than 400 of physician and medical student leaders from all specialties and modes of practice to meet with legislators on priority health care issues and get hands-on experience on advocating for their patients and profession.
If you would like to participate in SBCMS' 2-day event (flying up April 7 and returning on April 8) to enjoy dinner together and attend one-on-one legislative meetings, you are highly encouraged book your reservations IMMEDIATELY and let us know so we can register you with CMA to attend!!

The trip includes:
- Networking with physician, resident, medical student colleagues from around California.
- Private dinner with invited local elected officials the night before the Legislative Advocacy Conference
- Meet and lobby legislators (meetings to be coordinated by SBCMS) on priority health care issues and learn how to become an advocate for your patients and colleagues.
- Participate in CMA's training webinar on legislation and policy that will be discussed with elected officials.

IMPORTANT: Because of several concurrent conventions and concerts, the downtown Sacramento hotel rooms are booking up QUICKLY! CMA discounted rates at Sheraton Grand and Kimpton Sawyer (near the Capitol) are already booked up. These hotels along with the Citizen Hotel and Hyatt Sacramento (near the Capitol) are all available but pricey.
Below are additional, more reasonably priced hotel suggestions:
- AC MARRIOTT ($370/night before taxes): This is a good location for our meetings, fairly close to the Capitol
